Globe recognized for outstanding communication programs, bags Excellence awards

Globe Telecom once again took top honors from the 10th Philippine Quill Awards for its outstanding communication programs and tools. Two of its entries received the Award of Excellence and were the lone recipients of the citation in their respective categories.

Globe received an Award of Excellence for the Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) via GCASH REMIT Communication Strategy under the Communication Management – Media Relations category. The CCT program is a government program which provides cash grants to indigent families with certain conditions. In 2010, Globe Telecom was tapped to distribute CCT cash grants in hard-to-reach areas using GCASH REMIT, the company’s cash pick-up service. Through its wide network of GCASH REMIT outlets, Globe was able to bring CCTs closer to the families in remote villages. In a span of only six months, Globe quickly disbursed around P2-Billion cash in over 400 hard-to-reach municipalities.

Globe also bagged an Award of Excellence for Globe Prepaid SUPERUNLITXTALL25 under the Communication Skills – Writing category. To further expand and grow its prepaid business, Globe launched Globe Prepaid SUPERUNLI ALLTXT25, the first-of-its-kind offer for prepaid subscribers that comes in a bundle of three services: text, call and mobile browsing. With Globe Prepaid SUPERUNLI ALLTXT25, subscribers get unlimited text messaging to all networks, 1 hour of mobile browsing, and 10 minutes of calls to Globe/TM subscribers. In order to effectively reach its target market, the campaign used a series of advertorials, which were deemed more personal, relatable, and experiential for the youth category versus traditional advertising.

Meanwhile, Globe Run 4 Home, the company’s annual charity fun run which had over 8,000 runners last March, bagged an Award of Merit under the Communication Management – Multi-Audience Communication category.

Globe also scored three (3) finalist citations for Globe Kasama Ko Program (Communication Management – Community Relations), Globe Cordillera Challenge 2: Bigger and Better (Communication Management – Media Relations), and 5 in 55: Ka-Globe Jam Special Run (Communication Management – Special Events).

“Globe is truly honored with the recognition given by our peers and fellow industry practitioners. The awards we received testify to our commitment to best practices in communications,” said Yoly Crisanto, Head for Corporate Communications of Globe. “This recognition further inspires us to make great things possible for all our stakeholders as we continue to uphold the values of transparency, accountability, and creativity in all our endeavors.”

Given annually by the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Philippines, the Philippine Quill is the country’s most prestigious and relevant award for business communicators. Winners underwent a rigorous process based on set objectives that supported business goals and showed an understanding of the target audience; values that were measurable to one’s organization with a creative, effective communication effort; and measured outcome of the communication program as proof that it successfully achieved its stated goals.
