Donors may coordinate with 2GO and Balay Mindanaw

Kindhearted donors with no definite recipients yet in areas devastated by super typhoon Yolanda may send their shipment of relief goods through 2GO vessels to the non-government organization Balay Mindanaw that has set up a relief distribution center in Ormoc City.

The 2GO Group has earlier expanded its service of free shipment of relief goods to Tagbilaran City after the October 15, 2013 earthquake to include Ormoc City in Leyte in the aftermath of super typhoon Yolanda. The usual three Cebu-Ormoc Supercat trips has been increased to four daily. Check out this link for the 2GO schedule of Cebu-Ormoc trips.

Balay Mindanaw

The Balay Mindanaw Quick Assessment Team is on its third day coordinating with the city government and barangay officials as well as private organizations distributing relief goods in Ormoc City. The city is a major port and economic center located at the western side of Leyte in Eastern Visayas. Normally, it is a two-hour drive from Tacloban City although as of the moment there is still need to clear the route with debris and fallen trees and electric posts.

Donors may deposit their donations of relief goods at the 2GO ‘Bangon Visayas’ drop off center at 2GO terminals and register Balay Mindanaw as the consignee. Rest assured these will reach Balay Mindanaw and will be distributed properly.
