KABATAAN Party List Congressman Raymond V. Palatino has accepted the invitation to speak during the 2011 Visayas Blogging Summit billed as the biggest gathering of bloggers in the Visayas on November 26, 2011 at the SM City Cebu Trade Hall in Cebu City.
Palatino, who describes himself as a Filipino activist and a blogger since 2004, has been instrumental in passing pro-youth legislation at the House of Representatives like the bill against the “No Permit, No Exam” school policy.
Aside from his blog mongpalatino and his work as a member of the Philippine Congress, Palatino is also the regional editor for Southeast Asia of Global Voices.
Global Voices is a community of more than 500 bloggers and translators around the world who work together to bring you reports from blogs and citizen media everywhere, with emphasis on voices that are not ordinarily heard in international mainstream media.
As Global Voices regional editor, he is thus an authority on citizen media and advocacy blogging not only in the Philippines but also in Southeast Asia.
