PRINCE Warehouse Club will open its annual Sari-Sari Store Festival tomorrow morning (July 20) with guest of honor Sen. Allan Peter Cayetano cutting the ceremonial ribbon at the Cebu International Convention Center (CICC) in Mandaue City.
Cayetano, who is arriving from Manila early tomorrow in time for the opening, will be joined by Cebu Gov. Hilario Davide III and Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama in the ribbon-cutting ceremonies along with the top brass of Prince Warehouse Club (PWC), led by PWC president and CEO Robert Go.
The re-elected senator is also expected to address and “inspire back” some 2,000 attending sari-sari store owners from all over Cebu City and Cebu Province, which he said “have inspired us” during the elections in May.
To recall, Cayetano topped the May senatorial election results in Cebu with close to a million votes and asked the Cebuanos to “allow us to inspire you back” last month when he took his oath of office here in the Queen City of the South.
Now on its eighth year, the event — with the theme: “Pakiglambigit: Sari-Sari Store Festival W8W Na!” — remains to be the landmark event of Prince Warehouse Club whose Sari-Sari Society has grown to about 70,000 members.
The retail Prince Warehouse Club chain has five branches in Cebu in the North Reclamation Area, Old MCWD building, Danao City, Minglanilla, and Argao, and has opened branches in Baybay and Maasin in Leyte, Naval in Biliran, and Cabadbaran City in Agusan del Norte to extend its services to the neighboring provinces in the Visayas and Mindanao.
Activities lined up for this year’s Festival include products exhibition, variety show, helpful discussions on entrepreneurship, micro-finance, and sari-sari store best practices and success stories, and sessions with relevant topics designed to help small business owners grow and boost the economy as well.
“The Festival is our way of expressing our gratitude to our loyal customers and acknowledging their continued support to the resonating growth of the company,” Go said.
The 1,500-square-meter Plenary Exhibition Hall of the CICC is expected to be crowded with the suppliers, distributors, sponsors, and exhibitors showcasing their goods and retailing their products at wholesale prices.
Capping the whole-day affair is the awarding for the Best in Booth Display, Most Outstanding Principals, Most Outstanding Distributors, Most Improved Distributors, and the Topsellers of the year.
