To further promote its advocacy on responsible internet use, Globe Telecom partners with Yahoo! Philippines as co-presenter of this year’s Yahoo! Purple Hunt 3.0 Family Edition.
The Yahoo! Purple Hunt 3.0 Family Edition is a four-week long online adventure which aims to bring the whole family together to explore the Web, discover the various Yahoo! Properties, and spend quality time bonding. Families are given a set of assignments using different Yahoo! properties which promote safety on the internet for the family.
Guided by three values Pledge together; Surf together; Play together, the treasure hunt is a fun family experience that promotes responsible use of the Internet and the new media by educating parents and their children about online safety and netiquette, while getting a chance to win exciting prizes, which include Tattoo and Tattoo MyFi broadband sticks. The online contest ends on October 26, 2011, with a finale event to be staged on October 29, 2011 at The Block Activity Center in SM City North EDSA.
“Our partnership with Yahoo! Philippines in launching the Yahoo! Purple Hunt 3.0 Family Edition is in line with our advocacy on the proper Internet use. Through this program, parents are empowered to guide their children when they access the World Wide Web,” said Yoly Crisanto, Head of Globe Corporate Communications. “Without restrictions, the Internet can be a source of information not suited for children, or worse, might pose risks that will threaten their own security. With the Yahoo! Purple Hunt 3.0 Family Edition, families do not only enjoy a unique bonding time, but also learn how to responsibly use the Internet for a safer and more fun online experience.”
