THE brief trip to Cagayan de Oro City turned out to be more than just the distribution of relief goods to what we in Cebu City and the rest of the country refer as victims of typhoon Sendong (Washi).

Doris Mongaya, managing director PRworks Inc., and Karlo Mikhail Mongaya, Panay coordinator for the Kabataan Party List, met people who though struck by the destructive typhoon too were in the thick of helping others.

Mediamen, bloggers among Sendong victims

TWENTY-FIVE media practitioners and bloggers in Cagayan de Oro and Iligan cities were among the victims of flash floods wrought by Typhoon ‘Sendong’ over the weekend.

Two of them, unfortunately, lost their lives as the violent flood swept their homes in Iligan. They were Michel Kundiman of dxRJ and Leonisid Alsonado of dxIC-RMN.

Saint John Bosco relic arrives in Cebu


A PRworks team lead by Bino Guerrero assisted photo-journalist Sammy Yncierto of Cebu Daily News and Angeli of the blog "Adventurouslei" in covering the arrival of the relic of Saint John Bosco in Bato, Samboan, Cebu.

We also committed ourselves to make a pilgrimage commemorative book that we intend to turnover to the Salesians of Don Bosco-Philippine South Province on the feast of Mary Help of Christians on February 24, 2011.

We urge devotees and the general public to contribute their photos on the Negros-Cebu leg of the pilgrimage and be part of this great commemorative book.

Cebu delegation leaves for Russia

Cebu Gov. Gwen Garcia and Consul Armi Lopez Garcia lead a powerhouse delegation from the Cebu business community that is leaving today for a weeklong visit to the Russian Federation.

The delegation of 20 businessmen include two young Gaisanos, Dr. Edward S. Gaisano and Christine Gaisano, Engr. Nestor Archival, and OPASCOR's Atty. Tomas Riveral.

"We have three objectives for the trip. One, promote participation for the 2nd Philippine Russian Business Forum and Exhibition in October 2010. Two, for the governor to inform the Business sector about Cebu province.
