Media Fam Tours
The familiarization or fam tour, in the world of travel and tourism, is one tactic to market a destination. In this case for a client way back in 2016, PRWorks brought Cebu-based journalists as guests to South Korea. When the journalists immersed first-hand, they became more educated and excited in writing about the experience.
In a successful media familiarization tour, both the stakeholders and the journalist guests benefit.
For the stakeholder, this is a marketing opportunity. They agree to offer their services and products complimentary. They are not donating goods and services. They are showcasing their business.
For the guests, a fam tour is both work and fun. But organizers and stakeholders should treat their guests as VIPs.
